The training on the implementation of school mediation has been completed.
Trainings on the Implementation of School Mediation Have Been Completed
With the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, the trainings within the framework of the project "Implementation of Peer Mediation in Resolving Student Conflicts," implemented by the "Education Support Center" Public Union, have been completed.
On the first day of the training, school psychologists were informed about approaches to conflicting parties, mutual respect, emotional management, and empathy-building skills.
On the second day, mediators from Baku Mediation Organization No. 15, which cooperates with the project, provided participants with information on the basic principles of mediation, the skills required for conflict resolution, maintaining a neutral approach, selecting questions to address the conflicting parties, and finding common ground between them.
The Director of the Baku Mediation Organization No. 15, Qasım Şaliyev, along with mediators Şakir Səfərbəyov, Aynur Hüseyn, Nəsimi Mirzəyev, and Narvin Mahmudova, answered the questions of school psychologists and student union leaders.
It should be noted that in the next phase, school psychologists and student union leaders who received training will select student mediators in pilot classes and involve them in psychological and mediation training. In the final phase, "peer mediation" will be implemented in the following schools:
- Under the Baku City Education Department: Schools No. 113, 156, and 224;
- Under the Absheron-Khizi Regional Education Department: Khirdalan city Schools No. 6 and 11;
- Under the Sumgayit city: Schools No. 3, 7, and 14;
- Under the Eastern Zangezur Regional Education Department: Kalbajar District School No. 117, Lachin District Schools No. 1 and 45, Gubadli District School No. 1, and the Esger Veyselov Sirik Village Secondary School in Jabrayil District;
- Under the Karabakh Regional Education Department: Fuzuli District School No. 47 and Aghdam District School No. 32.
